Baltinglass Library and Heritage Centre is located in an early 19th century former gaoler's house, which adjoins a courthouse, built c. 1810. The building occupies a prominent site overlooking the market square. The library was extended into the ground floor area in 2005, and is now integrated with the Heritage Exhibition area, comprising 550 square metres in total.
