Additional Information

The architect has cleverly designed the library in keeping with the
building’s former use as a primary school. Features such as wooden wall
shelving, bespoke furniture designed by a local crafts person and the sensitive
restoration of the original casement windows contribute to a warm, calm
interior for staff and library users of all ages. Natural materials were
preferred throughout. Borris Library features an oak floor, birch plywood and
lime plaster. Services include Adult Lending and Reference, Junior Lending and
Reference, Services for Young Adults, Full Audio Visual Collection including
Music and a programme of special events for children and young people. The library shares the building with CRISP (Carlow Rural Information Services Project). and a Scouts' Den (1st floor)
